THE BASICS

Hi, I'm Abby!

Here's the rundown: When I graduated from Washington State University's Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in 2017, I left with not only countless memories from some of the best years of my life (Go Cougs!) but a background in both broadcast and multimedia journalism. Backed by several internships and freelance opportunitiesI moved to Salem, Oregon, to be the arts and entertainment reporter for the Statesman Journal, where I would spend the next two and a half years. Here, I covered the arts and events community, reporting on our local theaters and galleries, as well as interviewing people like Ed Asner and Lewis Black. I also covered breaking news, including several protests like March for Our Lives and Keep Families Together. I also launched, led and emceed the Salem Storytellers Project, part of USA TODAY's national Storytellers Project, during my time in Oregon.

Fast forward to March 2020; I moved home to Washington to be the digital producer of Seattle Refined, an EMMY Award-winning lifestyle TV show and website that's part of Seattle's ABC affiliate, KOMO News, where we cover entertainment, food, art and life in the Pacific Northwest. I manage our TikTok and Instagram accounts, which have 170,000 followers combined and millions of video views each month through original content I create. I also started the first revenue-generating TikTok account in Sinclair Broadcast Group history, bringing in more than $100,000 in a year alone. I write original feature stories for the website, have interviewed people like Kevin Jonas and Seven Lions and have done regular live hits promoting weekend events on KOMO News' "ARC SEATTLE" every Thursday.

I'm just a red wine-loving, pop-culture-obsessed gal with a Leo stellium. When not on the clock, you can find me reading fantasy books, exploring the city, at a festival/show or jumping on a plane to who knows where. Cheers!
