THE BASICS
Hi, I'm Abby!
Here's the rundown: When I graduated from Washington State University's Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in 2017, I left with not only countless memories from some of the best years of my life (Go Cougs!) but a background in both broadcast and multimedia journalism. Backed by several internships and freelance opportunities, I moved to Salem, Oregon, to be the arts and entertainment reporter for the Statesman Journal, where I would spend the next two and a half years. I also launched, led and emceed the Salem Storytellers Project, part of USA TODAY's national Storytellers Project, during my time in Oregon.
Fast forward to March 2020; I moved home to Washington to be the assistant editor and digital producer of Seattle Refined, a lifestyle website and TV show that's part of Seattle's ABC affiliate, KOMO News, where we cover entertainment, food, art and life in the Pacific Northwest. I spend my days writing about fun things and inspiring people, making TikToks and running around the city on assignments — be it a new cookie shop, talking to artists or reviewing a concert.
I'm just a red wine-loving, pop-culture-obsessed gal with a Leo stellium. When not on the clock, you can find me reading fantasy books, exploring the city, at a festival or at the nearest crystal shop. Cheers!
